This Magical Girl is a B✩tch Preview: B✩tch is a Term of Endearment, right?

In eighth grade, boys are the enemy. But also, so is that teacher that turned into a horrific monster and destroyed all the Halloween decorations. Just saying.

This Magical Girl is a B✩tch, from Developer Pastel Magic, is a visual novel that follows Tabbie Bones, an eighth grade girl who already has an arch enemy - and he’s the worst! Set to release in Q4 of this year, the game plays like your typical visual novel with players clicking through dialogue and making the occasional action choice for the protagonist but, This Magical Girl is a B✩tch features a fully voiced cast and a hilarious plot to bring them to life. The game also boasts multiple endings so there should be plenty of mischief to get up to.

At the start of the game’s Steam Next Fest demo, it’s Halloween Spirit Week at school and Tabbie, who loves all things Halloween, is getting ready to help her home room class decorate. But, of course, Tabbie’s arch enemy Eden is there to ruin everything. Not only did he get her in trouble for blocking his locker earlier that morning (not even on purpose!), but now he’s trying to steal the decorating job that SHE wanted! It’s time for her revenge. Unfortunately, when she decides to confront their teacher about it, something goes horribly wrong and Tabbie is forced to use magical powers that she didn’t even know she had!

This Magical Girl is a B✩tch is inspired by anime like Shugo Chara and Card Captor Sakura where the main character uses her newly found powers to fight crime and do good in the world. Except, Tabbie isn’t all about that. She’s mean and angry and ready to wreak some havoc. And it makes for a hilarious time. During her adventure, players will meet other great characters like Strength, Tabbie’s pixie guide, and Calem, a popular boy at school who seems to also have some secrets up his sleeve.

If the full story of This Magical Girl is a B✩tch is anything like the Steam Next Fest Demo (which features five different endings to unlock) then it’s going to be a great time. With gorgeous art, a banging soundtrack and fantastic voice acting, there’s nothing more you could want from an upcoming visual novel.
