Time to Morp is a Game About Hanging Out with Cute Little Guys

Who doesn’t like hanging out with cute little guys?

Time to Morp from Developer Team Halfbeard and Publisher Yogscast Games released just a few days ago on March 6th, 2025 after spending about a year in Early Access. In the game you land on a planet teeming with adorable creatures called Morps. Your goal is to build a base, discover new species of morps, decorate your home and automate production.

As an intern on your very first mission, this new planet is the perfect chance for you to prove yourself. The morp planet offers many hidden secrets and adventures to take part in. And, thankfully, you’re not alone. You’re accompanied by crew members each with their own unique personalities and advice for taking care of the planet.

When you first start out in the game you’ll be using tools to gather ingredients in order to begin building up your base. You’ll start by gathering rocks and protons as well as water for crops and other items that you’ll find uses for later down the line. Members of your team will request certain things from you that will encourage you to venture further and further away from your base. Eventually, once you’ve built things up enough, you’ll have put together at least some fully automated elements so you won't have to spend as much time out in the world gathering things by hand.

Due to Time to Morp’s non-violent approach, you can play the game at your own pace, not worrying about the variety of morp species that wander in and out of your camp. As you explore you’ll naturally discover more and more, but none of them pose a threat to you so it’s truly relaxing to wander about and see what you can find.

Time to Morp isn’t just about building your base and playing with morps, there are also mini-games to take part in. You can catch fish and cook recipes with guidance from the base’s chef. Each day offers more surprises and even more tasks to complete on this mysterious planet. And don’t forget to share meals with your fellow crew members and the morps, you never know what might happen if you do.

I played Time to Morp by myself, but it is available for up to four people. I was able to build up my base pretty quickly, but things would probably work much smoother with multiple people gathering and building things and helping to automate the base in an efficient manner. On the surface, Time to Morp is pretty simplistic, but once things get going it can get pretty complex so having some extra brains to help with planning would make things a lot easier (or maybe more chaotic).

Time to Morp’s 1.0 launch offers loads of content to enjoy. It can be a little difficult at the beginning as you learn how things work, but the more you play the more you’ll learn everything that this planet has to offer. I look forward to dragging my friends along for the journey soon so I can find even more hidden secrets and morp species I haven’t discovered yet.

Time to Morp is available on Steam regularly for $19.99 but it is currently 30% off as part of its launch offer. Grab it now for $13.99!
