Strategy Game Thronefall Adds 12 New Game Modes
Thronefall, the minimalist strategy game from Developer Drizzly Games, is celebrating a huge milestone - over one million copies sold. Thronefall released into Early Access in August of 2023 and has since received over 18,000 Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on Steam. To celebrate this fantastic accomplishment the team have just launched 12 brand new mini modes including the highly requested True Endless mode.
Thronefall takes the classic strategy genre and strips it down making it simplistic looking but with elements of base buildings and “hack and slay” as it’s coined on the game’s Steam Page. The 2.1.1 Update is available right now and you don’t need to have completed the main campaign to jump in. Each of the 12 new modes are different with their own unique set of rules. Some of those modes include:
True Endless: Take on an almost endless amount of random enemy ways. The only way for the game to end is for you to lose or surrender.
Reverse Seige: In this mode you are the attacker on Freifort. You cannot regenerate any of your health and if you run out, the night is immediately over. Gain gold by destroying economy buildings and spend that gold during to day to gain more troops.
Summoner Gold: This mode challenges players to collect as much gold as possible by using summoning circles that appear all over the map. Design your own enemy waves, decide your own difficulty and see how much gold you can gather.
The 2.1.1 update also includes a variety of quality of life updates and bug fixes and added four new languages: Korean, Italian, Ukrainian and Czech. You see the full blog about the update here.
Thronefall is available on PC and Nintendo Switch right now, but note that the mini-modes are currently only available on PC with no planned release for Nintendo Switch.
