Composer Lena Raine Shares Concept Album for Earthblade on Bandcamp
Earthblade was a Metroidvania platformer game developed by Extremely OK Games which was cancelled earlier this year. Lena Raine, a composer for the game who has previously worked on music for Celeste, Chicory and more, has just released the concept album for the game as a tribute to what it could have been.
The album, now available on Bandcamp, features 9 tracks inspired by older animation and film including: Joe Hisaishi’s Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Yoko Kanno’s Cowbow Bebop and Ghost in the Shell and more.
Raine states on the Bandcamp page, “Across the Bound of Fate, more so than a soundtrack, is a concept album. The music I wrote for the game is highly dynamic, in the tradition of what I wrote for Celeste. I took it many steps beyond, in ways that temporally-constrained pieces of music can’t really do justice. But I did my best to arrange them into the emotional arc of their progression, much like I would for any soundtrack release.”
You can pick up the album, which is around 30 minutes long, over on Bandcamp where you’ll find much of Raine’s other music as well.
