Batography is a Cute, Ten Minute Adventure to Celebrate Lunar New Year
Happy Lunar New Year to those who celebrate!
Developer SporkTank, the dev behind A Symmetric Escape and the upcoming puzzle game Rita, is getting ready to release its newest adventure Batography on Steam on January 29th. SporkTank is made up primarily of solo dev Martin Stradling who created the game as a way to get his younger cousins involved in game development. Batography has players taking control of a curious bat equipped with a camera whose goal it is to take a beautiful photograph of the full moon.
At the start of Batography, the bat’s friend gives him a camera and he immediately takes it upon himself to start snapping photos. As you explore you’ll meet other sassy animal friends and, by sharing specific photographs with them, you’ll be able to progress further to the left or right of your home. By cleaning up rubbish on the ground you’ll even open up little air vents that will allow you to float and glide around to reach higher places.
In addition to taking pictures and talking with the other animals, you’ll also be able to collect little mooncakes. There are ten mooncakes in the game to find and you’ll have to experiment a little to discover how to collect them all.
Batography is a short, little adventure that takes only 10 or so minutes to complete. If you’re going for a completionist run it may take you a few extra minutes to figure out how to collect all the mooncakes, but Batography is meant to be a short and sweet, one sitting game. With an adorable moonlit town and cozy animals this is a great game to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year.
Batography will be free to play on Steam on January 29th.
