10 Amazing Indie Games You Might Have Missed in 2024

Dice & Fold

We can’t say enough good things about Dice & Fold from Developer Tinymice Entertainment. Released back in June, Dice & Fold is a turn-based roguelike dungeon crawler where you roll dice in order to damage opponents and defeat the boss at the end of each dungeon. Strategize by picking your favorite class, mastering their abilities and bringing along a good companion. The game has had consistent updates since release and there are even more on the way.

Dice & Fold is available on PC.

Ballionaire

Welcome to the autobonker genre with Ballionaire. Find and exploit game-breaking synergies as you try to become the victor. Build the perfect Pachinko board and try to trigger big combos. Master multiple boards, spawn in crazy objects, get second chances and keep it all running smoothly to bring in higher scores than you can imagine. Don’t want the pressure of getting a high score? Try out sandbox mode and experiment to hone your skills before trying out the real thing.

Ballionaire is available on PC.

Void Sols

First released on November 12th, Void Sols is a top-down Soulslike where you fight your way through an abstract fantasy. We love how simplistic Void Sols looks despite having complex controls and mechanics. You play as a triangle forced to take down other geometric enemies and bosses. Face off against a variety of enemies, upgrading yourself and changing your loadout to adapt to your upcoming enemies. Take down bosses for ultimate rewards and reveal the story of the world as you progress.

Void Sols is available on PC.

Graven

From Developer Slipgate Ironworks, Graven is a first person RPG that has players exploring a dark fantasy world. You play as a priest of the Orthogonal order who has been exiled. A stranger ferries you to land and warns you about eldritch horrors that have been plaguing the area. With a late 90s aesthetic, we love the way that Graven looks and plays. Featuring character design from Chuck Jones (Duke Nukem 3D, Half-life) and voice acting from Stephan Weyte (Blood, Fire Emblem, Dusk) this is a medieval fantasy you won’t want to miss.

Graven is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.

Grunn

We haven’t been able to stop talking about Grunn since we first played the demo during the June 2024 Steam Next Fest. Fully released on October 4th, Grunn has you play as a gardener recently hired for a simple weekend job. But this job turns out to be anything BUT simple. Between trimming the grass, watering the flowers and picking up the trash, you may just find some new, not so conventional tools that can be used in different parts of the town. Saying too much about Grunn would spoil it so we won’t say more except, go play it and see how many endings you can get.

Grunn is available on PC.

Death Noodle Delivery

We love a good cyberpunk game, especially ones that involve noodles. Death Noodle Delivery from Stupidi Pixel and Tiny pixel has players jumping on a hoverboard, building bombs and delivering noods to your favorite customers. But even more importantly, you’ve got to try not to die because the world out there is dangerous for delivery drivers. Upgrade your hoverboard to better protect yourself anD unlock power ups to manipulate time and, of course, launch explosive cats.

Death Noodle Delivery is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip

A silly little open-world adventure from Developer Snekflat, Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip has players running, driving and gliding around a city full of surprises. Terry’s ultimate goal is to use his new car to launch himself into space, but you’ll have to accomplish a few other things before you get to that. While Tiny Terry’s world Sprankelwater is described as “mini”, it’s packed with things to do and people to interact with. Uncover the game’s story through these interactions while collecting junk to upgrade Terry’s car. But that's not all there is to do here and you’ll have a blast discovering it all.

Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip is available on PC.

Squirrel With a Gun

Can you imagine anything more terrifying than walking out of your house, taking a deep breath of fresh air and then coming face to face with a squirrel pointing a gun at you? Scary, right? But what if, instead, you were the squirrel? Now we’re talking. Jump into the fur of a rodent with a mission in Squirrel with a Gun from Dee Dee Creations LLC. Fight tooth and claw to escape from a secret underground facility, master the art of mischief and simply enjoy this sandbox shooter/puzzle platformer and all the chaos that comes with it.

Squirrel with a Gun is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The Strongest Tofu

When The Strongest Tofu from Developer Zounoashi Games first came across our inboxes we loved the look of it. Who doesn’t love a good block of tofu? And one that can kick some butt as well? Amazing. The Strongest Tofu is an action precision platformer where you only use one button to play. While the game can be played in just one or two hours, it requires real strategy to master. After all, tofu is fragile so you’ll have to be careful. The game also features tofu trivia so you can learn more about it as you play.

The Strongest Tofu is available on PC.

Duck Paradox

Another fantastic game released in 2024 is Duck Paradox from Magic Games. Navigate through the multiverse as Dr. Paraducks who is searching desperately for her beloved pet duck. Tackle difficult trials and seemingly endless runs, saving multitudes of ducks along the way. Dr. Paraducks is equipped with a variety of out of this world tools to help her survive the harsh multiverse. Shoot strategically while dodging hazards and survive to see your sweet pet duck once more.

Duck Paradox is available on PC.
