Wild Bastards is a unique spin on the roguelike genre. Each character brings their own personality and fun to the game and the gameplay itself is incredibly addicting, refreshing and smooth.
The metroidvania genre is a diverse and expansive place , but with such steep competition, it can be difficult to not only make an impression, but keep players interested and entertained. Thankfully, the indie space is full of titles like Kyle Thompson’s Crypt Custodian that is pushing through the metroidvania crowd and making big waves. Or should I say sweeping through the crowd.
No one said that presenting the news was an easy job, right? And definitely not when your hosts are a lemon and mango with googly eyes.
Mika and the Witch’s Mountain oozes charm when it comes to its characters, setting and overall gameplay concept. It is unfortunately let down by its lack of content. Much of what the team has accomplished is impressive, the game is truly beautiful, but I can’t help hoping that they’ll change their minds and allow players to discover more about Mount Gaun and the world they’ve created.
SteamWorld Heist II is a thrilling adventure from start to finish. With enticing turn-based combat, creative customizations for characters, and stellar soundtrack, every swashbuckling pirate will be singing a soulful sea chanty!
Simply put, Coal Supper's Adventure Comedy Slapformer is always funny and a delight. Even though the game's gameplay can be too simple or lacking at times, the constant laughs and art mending both Adult Swim and Cartoon Network successfully carry the game's short 2-3 hour experience and ultimately do not disappoint.
Été, from Developer Impossible, is a cozy, painting game set in the beautiful city of Montréal. Play as an amateur painter who has recently moved house for the summer. Explore the city, create unique artworks and enjoy the summer sun.
Valley Peaks is a special game that you think is over quickly, but keeps on going, and in doing so relays a very personal and important message to us all: Keep going
Broken Lens from Developer Team RUN is a cozy puzzle game where players must find the differences in each level in order to progress. It’s a simple concept and one that its team has truly perfected.
Dice & Fold is a really entertaining addition and one that I find myself continuously wanting to go back to. The Developers clearly listen to their players and are updating and fixing the game constantly and if things continue the way they’re going, with a few balance fixes, this title could stand proudly at the top of the genre.
